RIP to the opportunities we missed because of shyness & low self-esteem

Let’s make a promise to ourselves not to let that happen again.

In my experience, I’ve seen many people fall short of what they deserve — not because of lack of talent, but because they didn’t have the confidence to go after it. It’s easy to chalk it up to bad luck, but often, the real issue is a lack of self-belief.

We’re great at telling others to believe in themselves, yet we rarely offer ourselves the same support. Can you relate to that?

To break this cycle, here are five questions to help reframe your mindset:

1. What exactly am I doubting, and why?
Identifying your specific doubts can bring clarity. Often, our fears are vague, which makes them seem bigger than they really are. Break them down.

2. Have I overcome similar challenges in the past?
Think back to a time when you faced something difficult and succeeded. It’s easy to forget our own resilience, but this reminder can be powerful.

3. What would I tell a friend in the same situation?
We tend to give friends the advice we most need ourselves. If someone you cared about was doubting themselves, how would you encourage them?
